The dark subculture of fake baby bumps – prosthetic attachments designed to imitate actual pregnancy bumps – first came to attention a few years ago when the hilarity of Hilaria Baldwin exploded all over the internet.
Hilaria, wife of Alec Baldwin, was found to have led what was called “the decade-long grift” of pretending to be Hispanic and from Spain, when she was actually christened Hilary, has no Spanish heritage and grew up mainly in Massachusetts.
