Α striking formation of multi-type fighter jets soared over Santorini, marking the close of the multinational air exercise Iniochos 2025, hailed by officials as the most successful to date.
Hosted by Greece’s 117 Combat Wing at Andravida Air Base, this year’s exercise drew record participation from 12 countries, the largest since the drill’s evolution into an invitation exercise. France deployed an M-2000, the US sent F-16s and KC-46 and KC-135 refueling tankers, the United Arab Emirates participated with M2000/9s, India with SU-30s, Spain flew F/A-18 Hornets. Israel was present with a G-550, Italy with a Tornado, Qatar with an F-15, Montenegro with B-412s, Poland with an F-16 and Slovenia with PC-9 Mirage 2000s.
Greece’s Hellenic Air Force showcased its full combat aviation capabilities, including fighter jets, helicopters, transport planes, and training aircraft. Iniochos 2025 emphasized joint operational readiness, interoperability, and strategic coordination among allied air forces, reinforcing Greece’s role as a key player in regional defense cooperation.
