
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Boston University and Navy took home two awards apiece, while Holy Cross and Lafayette split the remaining two awards, when the Patriot League Outdoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week were announced on Tuesday.
Holy Cross junior Liam Lyons was named Patriot League Outdoor Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after breaking two school records in the 800-meters (1:49.55) and 1,500-meters (3:43.98). The 800m time ranks 14th nationally, while the 1,500m time ranks eighth in NCAA DI. Lafayette sprinter Ida Moczerniuk earned Patriot League Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honors after breaking the school record in the 100-meter with a time of 11.84. She also logged a time of 24.04 in the 200-meter. Both marks lead the Patriot League.
Boston University’s Owen Faulha earned Patriot League Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after he established a new school record in the javelin with a mark of 66.55m (218’ 4”) to earn bronze at the USF Alumni Invitational. The mark ranks 16th in NCAA DI. Boston University’s Ellie Roan was named Patriot League Women’s Field Athlete of the Week after she logged a hammer throw mark of 59.91m (196’ 7”) at the USF Alumni Invitational, finishing fourth in the event. Her mark is second in the Patriot League and ranks 25th in NCAA DI.
Navy freshman Wyatt Shaw garnered Patriot League Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week honors after he finished second in the long jump with a season-best mark of 7.38m (24′ 2.5″) and third in the high jump with a height of 1.98m (6′ 6″). His long jump mark ranks 24th in NCAA DI. Fellow Midshipman Zoie Tesi earned Patriot League Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Rookie of the Week honors after winning the high jump with a season-best height of 1.73m (5′ 8″). The mark ranks 19th in NCAA DI.
Boston University’s Guy Margalit and Karsen Vesty, Bucknell’s Wade Shomper, Holy Cross’ Haley Murphy, Lehigh’s Lillian Mauger and Nathan Oliphant and Navy’s Gracie Emerick earned honorable mention nods for their efforts this weekend.

*Lyons broke two school records with a time of 3:43.98 in the 1,500m and a 1:49.55 mark in the 800m.

*Moczerniuk broke the school record in the 100m with a time of 11.84.

*Tesi posted a season-best height of 1.73m (5′ 8″) to win the women’s high jump at the Virginia Opener.
*She also finished third in the triple jump with a distance of 11.61m (38′ 1.25″).
*Her high jump mark is currently tied for 19th in NCAA DI.

*Vesty logged an 800m time of 1:49.12 to win gold at the USF Alumni Invitational.
*The mark is the sixth-best in NCAA DI this season.
Nathan Oliphant, Lehigh, So., Sprints/Hurdles, Scranton, Pa./Riverside
*Oliphant won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.58. The mark is the best in the Patriot League this season.
Haley Murphy, Holy Cross, Sr., Sprints, Danvers, Mass./Danvers
*Murphy established a new Holy Cross record in the 400-meter hurdles with a mark of 1:00.45.
Guy Margalit, Boston University, Fr., Jumps, Kohav Yair, Israel/Beit Chinuch Yarkon
*Margalit had a wind-legal jump of 14.48m that ranks ninth outdoors at BU all-time.
Wade Shomper, Bucknell, Jr., Throws, Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley
*Shomper won the shot put with a mark of 17.01m (55’ 9.75”) at the Keystone Challenge.
Gracie Emerick, Navy, So., Pole Vault, Bethesda, Md./Damascus
*Emerick placed second in the pole vault with a height of 3.98m (13′ 0.75″) at the Virginia Opener.
*She ranks 39th nationally in the event.
Lillian Mauger, Lehigh, Sr., Sprints/Jumps, Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown Area
*Mauger earned a gold medal in the long jump with a mark of 5.99m (19’ 8”), a mark that ranks 34th in NCAA DI.
*She also had a third-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.56m (37’ 11.25”).
PATRIOT LEAGUE OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2024-25 Patriot League Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held in Worchester, Mass. at the College of the Holy Cross. Events at Hart Track begin Friday, May 2 and conclude on Saturday, May 3. All nine men’s programs and each of the 10 women’s teams will compete.
