NBA wishes Portland Trail Blazers’ Deni Avdija on his birthday
The official handle of the National Basketball Association took to X to wish the Portland Trail Blazers’ Deni Avdija on his birthday. The Israeli professional basketball player turns 24 this year, and after playing for the Washington Wizards for four years, he was traded to the Blazers last year in exchange for Bub Carrington and Malcolm Brogdon.
Many fans have also joined in wishing the small forward on his big day. Hope the young star, who was the youngest player to ever win the Israeli Basketball Premier League MVP award, has a great day.
He was an excellent youth player. He made his debut for their senior team in 2017, when he was 16 years old, making him the youngest player in the history of the club. Two years later, he became the youngest player to ever win the Israeli Basketball Premier League MVP award and led his team to the Israeli Basketball Premier League championship.
Avdija declared for the NBA draft in 2020 and was drafted by the Washington Wizards. He is also part of the Israeli senior national basketball team. Avdija won two gold medals for Israel at the youth level, including the 2019 FIBA U20 European Championship, where he was named the tournament’s most valuable player.
Deni Avdija scored against LA Lakers but could not help the Blazers win
In the recent match between Portland Trail Blazers and the Los Angeles Lakers, Deni Avdija scored a two-pointer against the Lakers. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough for the Blazers to get the win. He scored a total of 19 points, making the total for the Blazers to be 106.
But Lakers took the win home with a total of 114 points, as LeBron James scored the match-high score of 38 points. Max Christie was not far behind, as he scored 28 points for the Lakers. While it was a close call between the Blazers and the Lakers, a total of 8 points made all the difference.
Hopefully, Avdija is having a better day today than he had yesterday.
