On Saturday, Nashville SC begins its quest to rebound from its worst-ever season.
Nashville hosts the New England Revolution at Geodis Park in a game between two squads that struggled during the 2024 MLS season and missed the playoffs. Nashville went 9-16-9 (36 points) and placed 13th in the Eastern Conference, while the Revolution went 7-18-9 (31 points) to finish one spot behind Nashville.
New England got the better of Nashville in both of the teams’ two regular-season meetings last season. The Revs also beat Nashville on penalties in the Leagues Cup group stage to eliminate Nashville from the tournament.
Both squads have rebuilt heading into 2025. Nashville, which is going in its first full season under coach B.J. Callaghan, added 12 new players this offseason, including Edvard Tagseth, Andy Najar and MLS Cup MVP Gastón Brugman. New England traded for striker Leonardo Campana from Inter Miami and added United States international Jackson Yueill in midfield.
Nashville also signed Swedish midfielder Ahmed Qasem for a reported $4.2 million transfer fee this week, though Qasem will not play Saturday as he is still waiting for his visa.
