
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Columbus Crew will be keeping goalkeeper Nicholas Hagen with a contract extension through the 2026 season along with club options for 2027 and 2028, the team announced in a press release.
“Nicholas is an important member of our goalkeeper group who showcased his quality in several performances in 2024, including during our Leagues Cup championship run,” Crew General Manager Issa Tall said in the release. “In addition to his experience on the international stage, he is committed to his personal development and the team’s collective success, and we are pleased that he will remain a part of our Club.”
The 28-year-old Guatemalan international made four regular season appearances in 2024, with 19 saves.
He’s also played for C.S.D. Municipal in Guatemala, FK Sabail in Azerbaijan and Bnei Sakhnin in Israel.
“I’m excited to continue my journey with the Columbus Crew,” Hagen said in the release. “The culture within this organization is truly unique and special and is somewhere that I want to continue to grow. I’m eager for what’s ahead and can’t wait to keep striving for more trophies with the Crew.”
