CAIRO – 26 March 2025: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aty held a phone conversation on Wednesday with Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa to discuss the escalating situation in Gaza and the West Bank amid ongoing Israeli military operations.
During the call, both sides exchanged perspectives on the deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Palestinian territories, emphasizing Israel’s violations of international law and the humanitarian impact on civilians.
Abdel Aty outlined Egypt’s ongoing diplomatic efforts, in coordination with Qatar, to mediate a ceasefire and establish a lasting truce in Gaza. He reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to de-escalation and providing relief to Palestinian civilians.
For his part, Prime Minister Mustafa expressed appreciation for Egypt’s mediation efforts and underscored the importance of creating conditions for the upcoming Cairo Conference on Gaza Reconstruction. The conference aims to mobilize financial and international support for the Arab-Islamic plan to rebuild Gaza and ensure the stability of Palestinian communities.
Both officials agreed to maintain close coordination in preparation for the Cairo Conference, with a focus on early recovery and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
